The famous all-rounder and Test captain of England, Ben Stokes, has decided to skip the forthcoming IPL 2024 in order to focus on his health and national duties. Stokes, who just recovered from knee surgery, has a busy itinerary that includes the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA as well as a five-match Test series in India. Stokes was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for ₹16.25 crore in 2023, but he played very little because of injuries, therefore CSK and supporters had to miss his impact this season. His absence frees up a substantial amount of funds for the franchise’s December 19–33 sale.
