Siliguri Taxi Booking Will Change Thanks to the Yatri Sathi App

Siliguri is ready to welcome in a new era of seamless mobility with the Bengal government's launching of the Yatri Sathi cab booking app. After being successfully introduced in Kolkata last October by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the app will launch in Siliguri the following month.

Yatri Sathi's operations chief, Rajdeep Dutta, revealed that starting in July, Siliguri locals and tourists would be able to book taxis using the app for both local and out-of-town travel. There will be two different modes of operation for the service: special zones and open market.
Cabs can be reserved for any location within or around the city, including trips to the hills, at designated zones such as the Bagdogra airport, Siliguri Junction region, and New Jalpaiguri train station.

Under the supervision of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police, driver registration is presently in progress.
While the precise number of taxis to be part of the app's network is still being decided upon, regulators are making sure that all driver details and fare amounts are governed for equity and safety.

The purpose of driver training, according to Siliguri Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic), Bishwachand Thakur, is to guarantee passenger comfort.
The plan has received support from the local taxi unions and is well-liked by those in the travel and tourism industry.
