Showrunner Eric Kripke made the announcement on social media ahead of the fourth season's June 13 release of the well-liked Amazon Prime Video series The Boys, which starred Karl Urban and Antony Starr, will conclude with Season 5.

"Now that #TheBoys Season 4 is almost here, it's the ideal opportunity to reveal that Season 5 will be the last one! this was always my intention; I just needed to wait to announce it till I had official approval from @voughtintl. However, I'm excited to bring this tale to a bloody, epic, and poignant conclusion," Kripke wrote on Tuesday on Instagram.


The showrunner posted a picture of the script along with the caption, saying, "Now watch Season 4, which premieres THIS THURSDAY, for the end has begun! Join the journey now. it will have a rough surface. and most likely a touch damp.


Early this month, the show's creators released the Season 4 trailer for The Boys, which showed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan's new character and Urban's Billy Butcher are planning to unleash a deadly virus that targets the Supe community. However, Starr's Homelander is taking advantage of patriotism claims to turn his group of "beloved celebrities" into "wrathful gods" who will fight against demonstrating people.


In addition to Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti, The Boys is based on the same-titled comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Valorie Curry, and Susan Heyward are also expected to join the cast of the next installment.

Three episodes from The Boys Season 4 will be available for viewing on Prime Video starting on June 13. Following that, a new episode will air every week until the season finale on July 18.
