Division Bench Takes Up Appeals on Alleged Irregularities in Primary School Teacher Hiring Cases
Justice Tapobrata Chakrabarty Leads Hearing After Contradictory Rulings
On Thursday, a division bench led by Justice Tapobrata Chakrabarty took on the task of hearing appeals against the orders passed by Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay in cases pertaining to alleged irregularities in primary school teacher hiring. The division bench led by Justice Soumen Sen had declined to hear the appeals the day before.
On Wednesday, an attorney representing applicants who were found qualified in the 2014 TET but were rejected for employment due to purported anomalies petitioned the division bench presided over by Justice Chakrabarty and requested an early hearing.
Appeals, according to Justice Chakrabarty, would be considered after the bench has received papers from the Justice Sen.-led court.
The modification came about as a result of contradictory rulings issued last week by Justice Sen's bench and Justice Gangopadhyay's bench.
