Delhi Fire Service gets 208 calls about fire-related events on Diwali, 22 of which are caused by firecrackers

According to an official on Monday, the Delhi Fire Service got 208 calls about fire-related events on Diwali, 22 of which were brought on by firecrackers.

According to the official, there were significant fire occurrences on Sunday in Tilak Nagar, Sadar Bazar, and the East of Kailash, but no one was hurt.

A significant fire originated in a godown in Deputy Ganj of Sadar Bazar in Central Delhi, according to a Delhi Fire Service officer. He said that it took two hours for the twenty-two fire tenders who were called into action to put out the fire.

A market fire in Tilak Nagar, West Delhi, completely destroyed six stores. There was also a reported fire at Sultanpuri, which is outside of Delhi.

Following citizens' disregard for the prohibition on firecrackers on Diwali night, Delhi saw an increase in pollution levels and the return of a hazy, smokey sky on Monday morning. The AQI was in the bad category at 275 at 7 am.

In some places, such as Shadipur (315), Ayanagar (311), Lodhi Road (308), Pusa (355), and Jahangirpuri (333), the levels of pollution have even been classified as "very poor."
