After beating Shashi Tharoor in the party's internal votes for the presidency, Kharge was chosen as the Congress president in October of last year. "The party has advanced significantly under his direction. It said that Kharge is a visionary leader dedicated to creating a better India in the future. "He excels at consensus making and staunchly stands up for what is right and just," the Democrats said.
"As our president completes a year in office, we wish him the very best and thank him for his efforts and inspiration to all those who strive to make a difference," stated the statement.
When Kharge reached the conclusion of his first year in office, a number of Congressmen sent him well wishes.
Tharoor wrote on X, "My Pranaams to Shri @kharge ji." May he powerfully guide us to victory in the next elections!"
