Nag Ashwin's Sci-Fi Epic "Kalki 2898 AD" Rakes in Rs 414 Crore in First Week
Prabhas-Starrer Emerges as Box Office Powerhouse with Strong Domestic and International Performance
According to industry data-tracking website Sacnilk, Nag Ashwin's science fiction epic Kalki 2898 AD finished its lengthy first week in theaters with a total receipt of Rs 414 crore nett at the domestic box office.
On its first day, the dystopian thriller, which debuted in theaters on June 27, brought in an astounding Rs 95.3 crore nett. The movie brought in an extra Rs 54 crore nett on Day 2. The Prabhas-starring film brought in Rs 88.2 crore nett on Sunday after earning Rs 64.5 crore nett on Saturday.
With a flawless Monday test performance, Kalki 2898 AD earned Rs 34.15 crore nett on Day 5. The movie brought in Rs 27.05 crore nett on Tuesday and Rs 23.2 crore nett on Wednesday.
The Nag Ashwin-directed film brought in Rs 22.30 crore nett on Thursday, bringing the total amount of money collected domestically to Rs 414.95 crore nett.
With a nett earnings of Rs 212 crore, the Telugu version of Kalki 2898 AD was the highest earner, according to Sacnilk. While the Tamil original made Rs 23.1 crore nett, the Hindi-dubbed version took in Rs 162.8 crore nett. The respective contributions from the Kannada and Malayalam versions were Rs 2.8 crore nett and Rs 14.2 crore nett.
Kalki 2898 AD has also done remarkably well at the box office abroad, with North America leading the way. In the area, Kalki has become the fastest-grossing movie with USD 14 million. After seven days, the Prabhas movie has made an estimated Rs 700 crore worldwide, according to the producers.
