Senior BJP leader Pralhad Joshi announced here at the NDA parliamentary party meeting that Narendra Modi will take the oath of office as prime minister for the third time on Sunday.

Joshi informed the NDA leaders gathered here at the Central Hall of the ancient Parliament Building to choose Modi as their leader that the oath-taking ceremony would begin at 6 p.m. on June 9.

Senior coalition figures, including chief ministers, were present at the meeting in addition to NDA MPs. BJP president J P Nadda is anticipated to put out a resolution endorsing Modi's leadership, and allies and MPs are likely to approve it.

Senior alliance members like N Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP, Nitish Kumar of JD(U), and Eknath Shinde of Shiv Sena will meet with President Droupadi Murmu after Modi is elected as the leader of the NDA MPs. The purpose of this meeting is to present the president with the list of parliamentarians who support Modi.

Alongside prominent BJP officials, NDA leaders Pawan Kalyan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Anupriya Patel, Kumar, and Shinde were also present on the major dais.

With 293 MPs, the NDA easily surpasses the 272 majority needed to form the 543-member Lok Sabha.

Senior BJP figures, such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nadda, have also been negotiating with partners to figure out a cooperative arrangement for their representational portion in the incoming administration, which will be heavily dependent on them to survive.

Since the June 4 results for government formation, the BJP leadership has acted quickly to allay any anxiety following the verdict. The ruling party suffered a blow as it lost the majority for the first time since 2014 and now needs the cooperation of allies to stay in office.
