Tragic Incident in Cooch Behar: Two Brothers Die in Septic Tank Asphyxiation

On Monday in Cooch Behar, two brothers who had entered a septic tank that was still being built in an effort to open its wooden shuttering perished of probable asphyxiation.

Nabi Haque, 45, of Boronachina-Kuthibari under Dinhata police station, according to sources, entered the tank to open the shuttering at approximately 9.30 am. His 43-year-old brother Sadikul entered the tank to save him when he became unwell. Both perished inside.

Their nephew Jainal Abedin said that the brothers were rescued by the firefighters.

As soon as they arrived at the subdivisional hospital in Dinhata, physicians proclaimed both of them dead.
