Victory Parade for T-20 World Cup-Winning Indian Cricket Team Causes Minor Injuries Due to Overcrowding
Thousands of fans thronged Marine Drive to witness the victory parade of the Indian cricket team on Thursday evening.

An official stated on Friday that a sizable throng had assembled along the route of the triumph parade of the Indian cricket team, who had won the T-20 World Cup, in South Mumbai. At least eleven of them were sent to hospitals for minor injuries or dizziness.

Nine people were admitted to the GT Hospital, which is maintained by the state, after sustaining injuries or complaining of breathing problems brought on by the overcrowding. The JJ Group of Hospitals dean stated that they are now in a stable condition.

After receiving primary care, the fan was released from the government-run St George's Hospital, located close to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, according to officials. After receiving care, the other patient was released from a private hospital in south Mumbai.

On Thursday night, thousands of spectators flocked to Marine Drive to watch the Indian cricket team's victory parade. According to an official, this caused a situation akin to a stampede.

To prevent any untoward incident, police set up sophisticated security measures and positioned a big number of officers between Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium.

Commissioner of Mumbai Police Vivek Phansalkar commended him for using his authority to control the mob during the victory procession.

Phansalkar posted on his official X feed, "A special appreciation to all my officers & staff of @MumbaiPolice for the exceptional crowd management at Marine Drive today amid the rains."

"We made sure the fans and our Champions will always remember this as a wonderful time. Thank you Mumbaikars as well for your assistance. Together, we made it happen!," he continued in the message.
