Palam 360 Khap Threatens Protest Outside Kejriwal's Home If Demands Not Met

If their demands are not addressed before the next Lok Sabha elections, Palam 360 Khap has threatened to hold a demonstration outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's home and the gherao offices of AAP MLAs.

The members of the "mahapanchayat" here at the Jantar Mantar on Sunday made a number of demands, including relief from taxes and levies like as house tax, conversion charge, and parking fee, as well as jobs for the villagers and plots to make them self-sufficient. The "mahapanchayat" was set up to talk about villagers' rights, the imposition of various levies, and rules and regulations, including as house taxes and building bye-laws, in the villages near and surrounding Delhi.

Surendra Solanki, the leader of Palam 360 Khap, warned to "gherao" the offices of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs during the "mahapanchayat" that if their demands are not addressed before the Lok Sabha elections, the next panchayat will be held outside Kejriwal's home. The khap sought removal of the building bye-laws, a revised land pooling policy that was farmer-friendly, and notice of the Master Plan 2041.

According to Solanki, the khap has spoken with BJP leaders regarding matters involving the Center as well as Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena about their demands.

He said that the Delhi administration had ignored their requests.
