PM Modi Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on Their Birthdays

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birthday, stating that his influence around the world inspires all of humanity to live in harmony and compassion.

"On this wonderful occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, I bow to Mahatma Gandhi. His enduring guidance continues to illuminate our way. The global influence of Mahatma Gandhi inspires all of humanity to advance the values of compassion and harmony, he remarked on X.

"May we always work to realize his dreams," he continued. May his ideas help every child become the change agent they've always wanted to be, promoting peace and harmony worldwide. Gandhi, who was born in 1869, was India's leading freedom fighter and is regarded as the nation's father due to his contribution to the nation's independence.

Lal Bahadur Shastri, India's second prime minister, was also honored by Modi on the occasion of his birthday.

He claimed that his humility, devotion to the nation, and famous "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" cry continue to inspire future generations.

"His leadership during trying times and unflinching dedication to India's progress remain exemplary. May we continuously strive to realize his dream of a powerful India," he added.
