Actor Sidharth Malhotra has advised followers to "exercise caution" when responding to requests on social media following the claim that one of his fan sites defrauded a fan of Rs 50 lakh.

"It has come to my knowledge that some deceptive practices and schemes have been making the rounds on different social media networks, purporting to be connected to or connected to me, my family, and individuals identifying themselves as my admirers, and they are requesting money,” Sidharth stated in an Instagram post.

The Yodha actor went on to reassure his followers that neither he nor his group condones such behavior on social media, saying, "I urge all of you to exercise caution when dealing with such matters." Report any questionable requests you receive to the relevant authorities, and refrain from disseminating misleading information.

"My greatest asset has always been my fan base, and I place a high value on your safety and confidence. Big Love and Hugs," the actor from Shershaah concluded.

Love and support for the actor were abundant in the comments section from fans. One of them wrote, "@sidmalhotra, it takes immense strength to come forward even though you have nothing to do with this drama on social media." "No one else is a true hero like Siddharth Malhotra, who is standing up for his supporters. Thank you, sir, and nicely remarked," said another admirer.

The concerned fan, who identifies as a US resident, has claimed that the fan page administrators deceived her into paying Rs 50 lakh by making up tales about Sidharth's wife Kiara putting his life in danger. When the administrators begged Vasudeva for financial assistance to save Sidharth, she wrote about it.

The last film starring Sidharth was Yodha, which was helmed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. The action-thriller, which also stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna, hit theaters on March 15.
