Amit Shah’s Upcoming Visit to Bengal: A Strategic Move for BJP

Amit Shah, the union home minister, is probably going to visit Bengal for two days starting on January 28 in order to meet with top state BJP leaders for organizational purposes.

This is Shah's third visit to the state in the last three months and his first since the opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He and J.P. Nadda, the head of the national BJP, traveled to Calcutta in December to establish an election management committee for the Bengal unit.

"The Union home minister is scheduled to arrive in the city on Sunday and will put up at a five-star hotel in New Town," a BJP senior confirmed Shah's visit to Calcutta later this month. He intends to meet with BJP leaders during his visit, including MP Dilip Ghosh, state president Sukanta Majumdar, and leader of the opposition, Suvendu Adhikari."

The leader went on to say that when Shah and Nadda had been in Calcutta the previous time, they had given the state leadership a number of directives. "With polls likely to be announced anytime soon, this time, he (Shah) will hold a series of meetings to find out what the leaders have done since the poll management committee was formed last month."

Shah is anticipated to conduct a party workers' conference at Mecheda in the East Midnapore district on January 28 after his meeting with party officials in Calcutta on January 28. Shah is expected to attend a gathering of BJP-aligned academics at the Science City auditorium before departing the city.

According to a senior source, the BJP has been accusing the Mamata Banerjee administration of corruption, and with Shah's coming, the saffron party is expected to step up its campaign against the Trinamul government.
