Dharma Productions' Rom-Com Features Triptii Dimri in a Case of Superfecundation
The teaser for Dharma Productions' upcoming romantic comedy Bad Newz features Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk competing to establish who is a better father after Triptii Dimri receives a diagnosis of heteropaternal superfecundation.
The two-minute, 57-second teaser, which the producers released on Friday, begins with Triptii Dimri admitting to Neha Dhupia that she doesn't know who the father of her unborn child is. The identities of Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk are disclosed as the potential father.However, things get worse when Dr. Baweja (Gaurav Manwani) determines that it's a case of heteropaternal superfecundation, which occurs when two ovaries are fertilized by separate partners during the same menstrual cycle.
In the scenes that follow, Ammy and Vicky compete to see who would make a better parent by having lighthearted conversations and taking on physical tasks like pushups and hoops. Vicky makes a reference to his real-life romance with Katrina when he jokes, "Yaha toh meri lash se guzarke jana hoga (You'll have to get past my dead body here)," when Ammy tries to destroy a poster of Katrina Kaif.
After that, the teaser cuts to scenes of festivities, such as a wedding, and Triptii comatose on a hospital bed. The 1998 hit song Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan, from the film Duplicate, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Sonali Bendre, is also included in the remake.
Anand Tiwari is the director of Bad Newz, which is supported by the producers of Raj Mehta's Good Newwz (2019). Proudly presented as “a comedy based on true events,” Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective collaborate with Amazon Prime to make the movie.
Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja wrote the screenplay, while Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari are the producers.
The filming of Bad Newz, initially named Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, was completed in the previous year. The movie is scheduled to premiere on July 19.
