Kalki 2898 AD Grosses Rs 635 Crore Worldwide in First Five Days

According to industry data-tracker Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD, which stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, made an astounding Rs 635 crore worldwide in its first five days of release.

The Nag Ashwin-directed film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, had an incredible opening weekend, earning over Rs 550 crore globally. After that, it had a great opening Monday performance, earning an estimated Rs 84 crore in global revenue.

Over Rs 343 crore nett has been made in India by Kalki 2898 AD in all languages.

The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD has contributed Rs 128 crore nett, while the Telugu version has made Rs 182 crore nett in India thus far. While the Malayalam version brought in Rs 11.2 crore nett, the Tamil version brought in Rs 20.3 crore nett. Thus far, the Kannada version has earned a net income of Rs 2.1 crore.

The film, which takes place in 2898 AD, shows Kasi as the lone survivor amid a barren wasteland. This devastated world is ruled by a despotic elite under the godlike leadership of Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan). They live in the Complex, a gigantic inverted pyramid. The arrival of Kalki, a mystery character said to be the last incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu, who is growing inside Sumati (Deepika Padukone), who is protected by Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), is the central theme of the story. In the film, Prabhas portrays a bounty hunter.
