AR Rahman Responds to Sting Collaboration Rumors: 'Pending for a Long Time' | Lollapalooza India

In response to rumors that he and English artist Sting could work together, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman said that the project was "pending for a long time."

While performing as the main act at Lollapalooza India, Sting said he was excited to see Rahman while he was in Mumbai. The 72-year-old said, "I was going to have a meeting with A.R. Rahman last night, but he got stuck in an airport somewhere," in an interview with the magazine Rolling Stone. Thus, it did not occur.

Rolling Stone was informed by Sting that "we'll meet eventually, and we'll discuss a collaboration, perhaps."

Rahman returned the favor by posting a screenshot of the news article to his Instagram Stories with the remark, "Pending for a long time."

In May 2023, Rahman had posted a viral video clip on Twitter which showed Sting watching José Feliciano's rendition of the classic song Every Breath You Take at the 2017 Polar Music Prize ceremony. Rahman shared the viral clip with the caption, “I’ve been there .”
