Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, claimed on Wednesday that the people wanted the Citizenship Amendment Act to be repealed and called the law's implementation ahead of the Lok Sabha elections "dirty vote bank politics" of the BJP.

He added at a press conference that the BJP-led government at the Centre has opened the door for a huge number of poor minorities from Bangladesh and Pakistan to enter India with this law.

"In Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, there are 3.5 crore minorities. Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, alleged, "The BJP wants to spend our people's money in settling poor migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh by giving them houses and jobs here."

He asserted that the BJP will benefit from poor minority from neighboring countries immigrating to India as they will provide the party with a large pool of voters. According to Kejriwal, the BJP engaged in "dirty vote bank politics" by implementing the CAA prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

He claimed that the nation demands that the CAA be abolished and urged voters to support the opposition BJP in the event that the law is not.

The Citizenship Amendment Act aims to provide citizenship to undocumented non-Muslim migrants who arrived in India prior to December 31, 2014, and came from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
