In the third and final match of the T20I series on Tuesday, Australia Women defeated India thanks to Beth Mooney's unbeaten 52 off 45 balls.

India had only won two of their six white-ball matches in the ODI and T20I series, despite winning the one-off Test match.

Australia, trailing 148, won by seven wickets thanks to an opening partnership of 85 runs between captain Alyssa Healy and Mooney.

Within the first ten overs, the aggressive Australian captain almost put an end to the chase by playing her natural game. Mooney only had to hold one end while the others completed their tasks.

Earlier, India posted 147 for six, but Richa Ghosh's brilliant 34 spared them the blushes.

Shafali Verma (26) and Smriti Mandhana (29) laid the foundation for a solid first-innings total, but India blew a fantastic start, losing four wickets for six runs and faltering at the midway point.

After the Powerplay, India was 51 for 1, but they lost a few of wickets quickly and were reduced to 66/4 after ten overs. However, Richa's strike gave India new life, as they scored 81 runs in the final 10 overs.

In a fast-paced 28-ball inning, Richa hammered three sixes and two fours until Ashleigh Gardner put an end to her in the last over.

India also managed a competitive total because to crucial contributions from Deepti Sharma (14), Amanjot Kaur (17), and Pooja Vastrakar's six off the final ball of the innings.

India got off to a great start as Shafali hit three fours off Garth in the fourth over. They added 39 for the first wicket, but against the flow of play, the opener was caught behind by Megan Schutt.

Shafali made 26 from 17 balls after hitting six fours.

However, Australia stormed back to score three goals, with Jemimah Rodrigues being bounced out by Annabel Sutherland (2/12).
