Chandu Champion Nets Rs 39.62 Crore in Week One, Faces Competition from Munjya

Trade records show that Kabir Khan's sports drama Chandu Champion, which stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, made Rs 39.62 crore nett at the domestic box office by the conclusion of its first week of release.

The sports drama received mixed reviews on its first day of release, but saw a notable increase at the box office on its opening weekend and steady sales throughout the week. Trade statistics show that Chandu Champion made his debut on June 14 with Day 1 profits of Rs 5.4 crore nett and finished the day with Rs 7.7 crore nett. The sports drama brought in an additional Rs 11 crore net on Sunday.

Due to Eid-ul-Azha, Monday was a public holiday. The film made Rs 6.01 crore nett on that day, and then Rs 3.60 crore nett on Tuesday and Rs 3.40 crore nett on Wednesday. According to preliminary estimates, the Kartik Aaryan movie brought in an additional Rs 2.5 crore nett on Thursday, bringing its total first-week profits to Rs 39.62 crore nett.

Chandu Champion, a biographical sports drama based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, who won an individual gold medal in the 1972 Summer Paralympics, also stars Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala, Rajpal Yadav, and Bhuvan Arora.

Chandu Champion is currently up against Munjya, which, at the conclusion of its second week in theaters, has earned more than Rs 70 crore domestically.

The horror-comedy film, starring Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh, made an incredible debut at the domestic box office in its first week, earning Rs 36.5 crore nett. The Aditya Sarpotdar-directed film took in Rs 3.75 crore nett on its second Friday. A net collection of Rs 15.5 crore was made during the course of the weekend after this.

During the week, the horror-comedy movie made Rs 15.25 crore nett, bringing its total earnings to Rs 71 crore nett.
