In the first IPL match of the season, Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets on Friday.

After choosing to bat, RCB overcame CSK to reach 173 for six. The side was off to a strong start under skipper Faf du Plessis (35 off 23), but the visitors fell apart at 78 for five.


To add some respectability to the score, Anuj Rawat (48 off 25) and Dinesh Karthik (38 not out off 26) put up a 95-run partnership off 50 balls for the sixth wicket.
