Thousands turned out to see Ed Sheeran, who lit the stage on fire during his incredible performance here. The British music sensation shared the stage with Diljit Dosanjh and Armaan Malik, two Indian musicians.

Arriving in India on March 12 for the Indian leg of his "+ - = ÷ x Tour," Sheeran delighted music enthusiasts with over 30 songs over two and a half hours on Saturday night at the crowded Mahalaxmi Race Course grounds in South Mumbai.

The Grammy winner expressed his happiness at being back in his native nation. He traveled to India for the first time in 2015, and in 2017 he gave a concert there.

"While India is a vast country, not everyone in attendance at the event is a native of Mumbai. To be here now, people have come a long way. People drove, took trains, planes, and cars, and had children. I am aware that spending your Saturday night with me is a lot of work.

"I am grateful to everyone who came, and I did not take this for granted. Sheeran thanked the crowd for their Saturday night and promised to return the next year. "You could be doing anything, but you are spending it with me," he added.

"This is only the start," he continued.

With a mix of songs such as "Tides", "The A Team", "Perfect", "Happier", "Don't Call Me Baby", "Castle On The Hill", "Galway Girl", and "Eyes Closed", the 33-year-old vocalist performed while strumming his guitar.

Sheeran's performance of the hit Punjabi song "Lover" alongside star singer Diljit Dosanjh was one of the concert's highlights.

"A loud round of applause for Sheeran," Dosanjh remarked in Punjabi as the audience burst into ovation after witnessing the two musicians perform together on a 360-degree circular spinning platform. In response, Sheeran spoke the words, "Mumbai, make some noise for Diljit." "Had to introduce @diljitdosanjh to Mumbai tonight so he could perform his first Punjabi song. The British musician wrote on Instagram, "I've had the best time in India, and there's more to come."

Additionally, Sheeran and Malik collaborated on the 2022 track "2Step".

"Ed, there's something that unites us all Indians, I taught you this a few days back," Malik remarked following their performance. "Would you want to do it with me?" they said, striking Shah Rukh Khan's famous open-arm posture together on stage.

Sheeran engaged the crowd in conversation and got them to sing along throughout the performance.

He said, "Mumbai sing along," and the assembly agreed.

Indian artist Prateek Kuhad and English musician Calum Scott opened the event at approximately 5:00 p.m., with Sheeran taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.

Dressed in black T-shirt and jeans with the word 'Mumbai' embroidered on the front and back, the performer thanked the people who came to his second show in Mumbai.

"Thank you for coming if you had to see me perform again. "I want to clarify that everything here tonight is live for anyone who is watching me for the first time," Sheeran stated.

A few minutes later, he declared that he was having the greatest fun and that this was "the best show ever" of his tour.

Sheeran made a comeback to the stage toward the end, singing favorites like "Shape of You" and "Bad Habits" while donning a kurta that said "Mumbai" in Hindi.

"Mumbai, the 'Shape of You' is beautiful... I'll always remember this evening. Go home safely, please," Sheeran pleaded.

All he did was wave to the assembled people and go out.

Bollywood stars that attended the concert were Priyamani, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan.

The singer met a number of Bollywood celebs, including Shah Rukh Khan, a few days prior to the performance.

In honor of Sheeran, Farah Khan also threw a star-studded event that was attended by Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Dixit Nene, Malaika Arora, Rajkummar Rao, Patralekhaa, Huma Qureshi, Arshad Warsi, and Aryan Khan.

The musician played his all-time favorite song, "Shape of You," for kids at a Mumbai school the day he arrived in India. Later, he got to know Ayushmann Khurrana, who fed him pinni, a Punjabi desert dish made by the actor's mother.

On social media recently, videos of Sheeran and Malik swinging a leg to the hit song "Butta Bomma" from Allu Arjun's 2020 movie "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo" also went viral. Sheeran was seen playing cricket with humorist Tanmay Bhat and Indian batsman Shubman Gill while he was in Mumbai.

Sheeran's India tour was co-sponsored by BookMyShow and AEG Presents.
