PM Modi Files Nomination from Varanasi: A Hat-Trick in Sight

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday morning, filed his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, eyeing a hat-trick in the seat he first won in 2014. Before filing his nomination, the Prime Minister offered prayers at the Dashashwamedh Ghat on the banks of the Ganga and visited the Kaal Bhairav temple.

Amid the chanting of Vedic mantras, Modi performed aarti at the ghat. From there, he took a cruise ride to the Namo Ghat and then reached the Kaal Bhairav temple. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied him during his visit to the temple.

In a post on social media, Modi expressed his deep connection with Varanasi, saying, “My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable and incomparable… all I can say is that it cannot be expressed in words!”

The Prime Minister held a dazzling roadshow in Varanasi a day prior to his nomination filing and pledged to serve the holy city more in his third term. He later shared a clip from the roadshow, expressing gratitude for the love and blessings showered on him by the people of Kashi.

Several BJP leaders, Union ministers, and chief ministers of BJP and NDA-ruled states, including Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh and Eknath Shinde of Maharashtra, arrived in Varanasi to accompany Modi to the collectorate for his nomination filing.

Following the nomination process, Modi is set to hold a meeting with BJP workers at the Rudraksha Convention Centre. The voting in Varanasi will take place in the seventh phase on June 1. As the election date approaches, the city is abuzz with anticipation, waiting to see if Modi’s hat-trick aspiration will come to fruition.
