In the music video for O Maahi, the third song from Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming comedy-drama Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu's characters grow closer in the face of hardship as they attempt to cross a desert.
The four minutes and fifteen second music video, which was released by T-Series on Monday, opens with a view of a desert and features Shah Rukh and Taapsee in a jeep with a number of other migrants who are trying to cross the desert. We watch as the couple traverses the desert, going through intense pain and exhilaration. The video's most dramatic moment is when they flee for their lives while border guards open fire on them, Shah Rukh's Hardy holding Taapsee's Manu's hand tightly.

O Maahi, written and sung by Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh, is "a song of unconditional, long-lasting, selfless love," according to the makers. Irshad Kamil, whose songs can be heard in Aashiqui 2 (2013), Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), Kabir Singh (2019), and Highway (2014), wrote the song.
Shah Rukh wrote on Instagram on Monday, sharing the music video and discussing how it takes time for people to understand the true power of love. We don't always get the chance. There are times when we run out of words. This song is devoted to all of the lovers who experience such feelings.
Shah Rukh had teased the song and given an explanation of what "dunki" meant on Instagram on Sunday. "Because everyone is curious about what Dunki means. Being duki implies being cut off from your loved ones. And being with them makes you feel as though the moment should last forever," the Jawan actor wrote.
