Son Heung-min Leads Tottenham Hotspur to Victory, Earns Praise from Manager Ange Postecoglou

Son Heung-min, the South Korean striker who maintained Tottenham Hotspur in the fight for a top-four berth with his victory over Luton Town on Saturday, was praised by manager Ange Postecoglou.

Luton took an unexpected early lead thanks to a Tahith Chong goal, but an own goal by Issa Kabore in the 51st minute gave Tottenham an equalizer.

Son then completed a brilliant team play in the 86th minute to score his 160th goal for the team, placing him seventh on their all-time scoring list and securing a 2-1 victory.

"I believe Sonny has this incredibly high level of expectation on himself to be the best he can be all the time, regardless of opponent or whatever game it is. Being that way is very difficult, Postecoglou told reporters.

He's accomplished so much already, so it's much simpler to try to settle into the role of player or person.

"Yet, as you can see by his football, his efforts, and his current leadership, he wants to play to the best standards possible at all times.

He's been a fantastic football player for this team for a very long time, and hopefully for many more. However, I felt that he was really unfortunate with a few opportunities and some excellent saves.

However, he was there for us and completed the task when we needed him.

Tuesday's league game between Tottenham, now in fifth position, and West Ham United, currently in seventh place, will take place away from home.
