Suriya's Kanguva Poster Hints at Modern-Day Twist on Period Fantasy
Bobby Deol Makes Tamil Debut in Sci-Fi Action Thriller
In honor of Tamil New Year, the producers of Suriya and Bobby Deol's upcoming sci-fi action thriller Kanguva unveiled a new poster on Sunday that seems to allude to the movie's inclusion of both contemporary and historical themes.
Bobby, who is about to make his acting debut in the Tamil film business, posted the poster to Instagram along with the caption, "Where the past and present collide, a new future begins."
Suriya appears in the new poster during two different times in the movie. Suriya makes his appearance as his ferocious and merciless warrior avatar in the opening character, holding a sword. In the second persona, he is seen in a contemporary environment, with a rifle and wearing a suit. The two characters appear to be facing off in the poster.
A historical fantasy play set in the present, Kanguva weaves the past into the present. In addition to Suriya and Bobby, Yogi Babu and Disha Patani play significant parts in the movie.
The Siva-directed movie will be available in ten languages. The Kanguva release date has not yet been announced by the developers.
