Tamil Nadu Braces for More Heavy Rain, Schools Closed in Several Districts

Tamil Nadu's interior and coastal districts were battered by intense rain, and as a result of the state's ongoing downpours, several districts' administrations decided to cancel classes on Tuesday.

When the state experiences its first significant downpour of the North-East monsoon, the sky above Chennai is probably going to clear up.

On November 14, there is a chance of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Regarding the anticipated increased rainfall activity, the IMD said that an upper air cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal and over the South Andaman Sea is expected to cause a low-pressure system to develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours.

Around November 16, it is expected to shift to the west-northwest and center into a depression over the West Central Bay of Bengal.

Schools in the districts of Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, and Cuddalore were closed due to the unceasing rain that was plaguing the areas. According to the prediction, at least 15 districts, including Chennai, are probably going to see strong winds today.
