Trinamul Congress Releases Video of BJP Leader's Alleged Hate Speeches
Suvendu Adhikari.

Suvendu Adhikari, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, is seen in a 108-second video that the Trinamul Congress published on Friday. The party asked the courts to take notice of Adhikari's propagation of "hatred and bigotry."

The opposition leader from Bengal is attempting to use the events in Sandeshkhali to launch a rally against the state administration at the moment of the attempted cornering.

According to Trinamul insiders, the party felt that the moment was perfect to release the film, because Adhikari was very controversial when he was accused of calling S. Jaspreet Singh, an IPS officer who was on duty, a "Khalistani."

The said remark has embarrassed the saffron movement as the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and a number of other Sikh organizations have denounced the claimed "communal slur."

Videos had previously been distributed by Trinamul and Bengal police to attempt to prove that Adhikari had indeed made the offensive "Khalistani" remark against the officer.

The goal of Friday's Trinamul film is to portray the Nandigram MLA as a serial offender. It features a guy who looks like Adhikari making provocative remarks about Mamata Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi, the police, and certain tribal leaders.

In addition to calling Mamata "Begum" and a "minister of Pakistan" in the video, the guy who looks like Adhikari also swears at Rahul. Additionally, he allegedly calls two tribe chiefs "lap dogs" and the police "people who remain under my feet."

The collage contains Adhikari's alleged remarks on divisive topics including birth control, illegal infiltration, and the CAA, which are often used to deceive Muslims. These remarks have been labeled as "hate speech."

Senior Trinamul politicians shared the video on their X accounts as evidence of the BJP's "hate, communal slurs, filth and venom," including MPs Sushmita Dev and Derek O'Brien, suspended lawmaker Mahua Moitra, and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Abhishek regretted that Adhikari was still protected by the high court in spite of "injecting venom" into Bengal in a tweet about X.

The high court is still providing protection for this individual in spite of many requests. Who is responsible for inciting such intolerance and hate, and why is the Calcutta High Court shielding him? He wrote a few words in block letters and uploaded.

Abhishek seemed to be referring to a 2022 ruling by Calcutta High Court Judge Rajasekhar Mantha, which said that Adhikari could not be the subject of a formal complaint without the court's approval. The ruling was returned to the high court after the state administration contested it in the Supreme Court.

At a press conference on Friday afternoon, Trinamul presented senior ministers Chandrima Bhattacharya and Shashi Panja to alert the court to the claims that Adhikari was getting away with making "disrespectful and derogatory" remarks because of the court's protection.

"These are offensive and repulsive comments. They are disparaging. The worst thing is that he shows no signs of regret. "Observe the audacity," Panja said. The party, she said, expected the courts to take notice of Adhikari's "verbal terror" even though they had complete trust in the judicial system.

The Trinamul leaders attempted to bring up Adhikari's purported disregard for the restrictions placed on him by the high court when Justice Kausik Chanda permitted him to go to the conflict-torn region of Sandeshkhali at the press conference.

The court ordered him to refrain from making any divisive remarks or inciting chaos in the region where there is unrest. Panja said, "It is now undeniably shown that he simply referred to an IPS officer who was on duty as a Khalistani because he was wearing a turban.

Despite nationwide demonstrations over his remark, the entire BJP leadership in Delhi and Bengal has been silent. How long will he be able to escape thanks to this protection is the question. She enquired.

When asked whether Trinamul would file a lawsuit over this, she said that the party was bringing the issue to the "people's court."

Adhikari has refuted claims that he referred to the officer as a "Khalistani," as has the BJP leadership.

As of late Friday night, Adhikari has not responded to Trinamul's most recent video release.
