Two Terrorists Killed in Infiltration Attempt in Uri, Jammu & Kashmir

According to a defense official on Sunday, security forces in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, killed two terrorists in an attempt to infiltrate along the line of control (LoC).

The defence spokesperson in Srinagar said that troops were placed on high alert and the counter-infiltration grid was reinforced due to specific inputs from intelligence agencies and the police in Kammu and Kashmir regarding probable infiltration in the Uri sector by heavily armed terrorists from across the Line of Control.

A number of armed terrorists made an effort to sneak over the Line of Control by taking advantage of unfavorable weather conditions, such as continuous rain and low visibility, he claimed.

The gang was ambushed by soldiers on Saturday around 3 p.m., which led to a fierce gunfight. Two terrorists were eliminated after a fierce battle, he said.

The spokesman said that the deceased terrorists' corpses and the surviving terrorists moved to the enemy side of the Line of Control.

All through the night, monitoring was maintained in the region.

The spokesperson stated that following a thorough search of the incident site on Sunday, telltale signs were found and heavy war-like stores, including two AK-series rifles, six pistols, four Chinese grenades, blankets, and two bloodstained bags containing Pakistani and Indian currency notes, Pakistani medications, and food, were recovered.

According to their own judgment, the discovery of two bloodstained bags indicates that at least two terrorists suffered severe injuries, which compelled them to abandon their shipment and cross the Line of Control. The search has been halted due to bad weather; it will restart when the weather clears off," he said.

"BJP postpones elections"

The head of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress, Vikar Rasool Wani, said on Sunday that the BJP is "sensing defeat" by postponing the Assembly elections here and that it also wants to use bureaucracy to subtly dominate the Union territory.
