Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Sends Legal Notices to Congress Leaders Over Social Media Posts

On Friday, union minister Nitin Gadkari sent legal letters to general secretary Jairam Ramesh and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for allegedly disseminating false and slanderous information against him on X.

Balendu Shekhar, Gadkari's attorney, said that his client was astounded to learn about, hear, and witness the postings from the Congress's official Twitter account.

The lawyer said that Kharge and Ramesh purposefully broadcast a 19-second video clip of Gadkari's conversation with "The Lallantop" website, hiding the context and significance of his remarks.

According to the notice, a heinous conduct has been carried out with the express purpose of fanning the flames of confusion, sensationalism, and public disgrace for Gadkari. It said that it was a pointless attempt to sow discord within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team is set to lead to victory in the next general election.

The notification went on to say that Gadkari's interview had been misrepresented, manipulated, and uploaded on a video that lacked context.

The same has been done purposefully and thoughtfully with the Hindi caption "Aaj gaon, mazdoor aur kisan dukhi hai," which has been chosen. According to Nitin Gadkari, Modi's mantri, "Villages, laborers, and farmers are unhappy today." Gaon mein achhe roads nahi hai, peene ke liye shudh pani nahi hai, achhe aspatal nahi hai, achhe schools nahi hai. According to Nitin Gadkari, a minister in the Modi administration, "villages lack roads, clean drinking water, and decent hospitals and schools." It said that even though Kharge and Ramesh were aware of the whole of Gadkari's interview, which emphasized the government's efforts, they purposefully released the Hindi caption and the video clip while hiding the interaction's context in order to harm Gadkari's image.

"This legal notice is calling you to remove/delete the above mentioned post from your microbloging site 'X' forthwith and in any event, not later than 24 hours of the receipt of this legal notice, coupled with a written apology to my client within three days, failing which my client would have no other option but to take recourse to all such actions that are open to him, both civil and criminal, at your risk and expense," it read.
