Vande Bharat Express Attracts Young and Middle-Aged Passengers

According to statistics given by the Northeast Frontier Railway, a significant number of young and middle-aged people seem to be drawn to the Vande Bharat Express, which operates between New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati.

Rather than taking the twenty-hour trip to Guwahati, they would much rather go by train, which arrives in five and a half hours. Every day, two Vande Bharat trains depart from New Jalpaiguri station. While one links Howrah with Guwahati, the other does not.

"Many individuals now choose the Vande Bharat as their preferred means of transportation since the service's launch in May of this year. From the starting station to the stops along the way, the train has shown remarkable occupancy rates, according to a railway official.

He said that the train has shortened passenger travel times, and as a result, the business community in Bengal and Assam, particularly in New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, Kokrajhar, and New Bongaigaon, has welcomed it.

"Traveling from Siliguri to Guwahati and back takes around ten hours. The official said, "For this reason, people are taking the train, which arrives in Guwahati in five and a half hours.

According to statistics from the railroads, about 27.21 percent of passengers are between the ages of 25 and 34, and 33.03 percent are between the ages of 35 and 49.

Due to its comfort and speed, senior persons (60 years of age and above) have also shown a preference for Vande Bharat Express. This age group comprises around 8% of the travelers, the source said.
