Alumni association of Siliguri Boys’ High School to organise reunion in January
Three-day event will be held from January 12 to 14 when prominent alumni of century-old institution will congregate here
The reunion of the Siliguri Boys' High School alumni association, one of the city's oldest schools, is scheduled for January of the following year.
Prominent graduates of the century-old college will gather here for the three-day event, which takes place from January 12 to January 14.
The mayor of Siliguri, Gautam Deb, who attended the school in the past, noted on Friday that several graduates had achieved success in a variety of disciplines. He said that they are well-established and well-known in their specialized sectors, which include sports, academics, and culture.
"We have made the decision to plan a reunion of the 105-year-old school's alumni. Deb, the head of the alumni association, said, "We are also striving to meet the requirements necessary for the institution to obtain heritage status."
On Friday, the mayor officially opened the institution's newly designed website, siliguriboyshighschool.in, on its grounds. "The school's centennial hall and gate are planned to be built. For the sake of developing the school's infrastructure, the state government has approved Rs 15 lakh," said Deb.
According to sources, the three-day celebration will start on January 12 with registration for past pupils receiving kits and mementos.
The alumni association will have a colorful parade the next day, and then there will be a number of activities all day long, such as an exhibition, a wall magazine debut (Abirbhab), and an evening cultural event.
"On the last day, a memento will be inaugurated and past administrators, instructors, and notable graduates will be felicitated. The reunion event will include performances by singers Anjan Dutta and Jayati Chakraboarty, according to Deb.
