Malda: BJP MLA Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury’s SUV hit by vehicle of Trinamul leader

The second collision involving Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury's SUV in the last three weeks occurred on Thursday late evening in Englishbazar, where she is a BJP MLA.

The MLA's SUV was struck by cars that belonged to Trinamul politicians or their families in both instances.

On both instances, the MLA fled without any injuries.

Sreerupa stated she had been using the state route back to Malda from Manikchak. In the Uttar Ramchandrapur region, which is within the jurisdiction of the Englishbazar police station, at around 9:45 p.m., an SUV traveling in the other way struck her car head-on.

We discovered that one of the Trinamul leaders owns the car. The MLA said, "He was in the SUV."

She later brought a formal complaint to the police station in Englishbazar.

In the Englishbazar block, Aniket Roy, the young Trinamul chairperson of Amrity gram panchayat, stated: "The MLA's SUV lost control and crashed into my car." The MLA's security guards and a few others mistreated me as I got off. I've also reported anything to the police.

According to the police, an inquiry was under progress.

Sreerupa was traveling back to Malda from Manikchak on October 27 when a two-wheeler in the Milky area struck her car. Later on, information surfaced that the bike's rider was a local Trinamul leader's nephew.

BJP leaders in the district called the incidents "unusual."

It just so happens that the cars that struck our MLA's SUV are either related to or owned by Trinamul officials. Partha Sarathi Ghosh, the head of the BJP's Malda South organisational district, said the police should conduct an unbiased investigation into such instances and guarantee the MLA has proper safety.

The president of Trinamul Malda, Abdur Rahim Boxi, stated: "It is impossible to predict accidents." We hope for a long and healthy life for the BJP MLA. BJP officials, meanwhile, seem to be attempting to politicize the mishaps. We trust that a police investigation will uncover the truth.
