Bollywood and Cricket Fans Celebrate Arrival of Second Child
The couple announced their arrival of a newborn boy, born on February 15, on Instagram on Tuesday. Anushka Sharma is an actress and cricketer Virat Kohli.
After their January 2021-born daughter Vamika, the couple has named their next baby Akaay.
The message posted by Anushka and Virat says, "With abundant happiness and our hearts all of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika's little brother into this world."
They asked people to respect their privacy at this time, writing, "We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives."
In the comments section, Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Mouni Roy, and Preity Zinta congratulated the couple. "How exquisite! Congratulations," tweeted Alia, who is still waiting for Poacher, her producing project that stars Dibyendu Bhattacharya on Amazon Prime Video, to premiere.
South African cricket player AB De Villiers revealed in early February that Virat and Anushka were expecting a child, despite the pair having kept the news of their pregnancy a secret. But a few days later, De Villiers took back his comments.
Virat and Anushka dated for a number of years before getting married in 2017. After starring in the 2018 movie Zero, Anushka will next be seen in the Abhishek Banerjee- and Prosit Roy-directed biopic Chakda Xpress, which is based on the life of cricket player Jhulan Goswami.
