Bengal BJP gears up for massive door-to-door campaign ahead of Ram temple opening

The Bengal BJP leadership has instructed party members throughout the state to abstain from all official political activities for the first two weeks of the New Year in order to participate in the massive door-to-door outreach campaign known as Ghar Ghar Yatra, which aims to raise awareness of the Narendra Modi government's role in the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

On January 22, Prime Minister Modi is expected to dedicate the Ram temple.

"From January 1 to January 15, leaders across Bengal have been instructed to halt all usual political operations. During this time, their only responsibility will be to knock on every Sanatani (Hindu) home and tell them about the BJP government's participation in building the Ram temple. A top BJP leader said, "Not a single house will be left out."

Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the RSS, is expected in Calcutta on Saturday to attend many organisational meetings and pay visits to a few notable Bengali individuals.

Dattatreya Hosabale, the general secretary of the Rashtriya Swayambara Samita, is scheduled to meet with leaders of the organization in south Bengal on Saturday, according to a source. Bhagwat is expected to stay in the state till Sunday night.

The arrival of two senior RSS officials in Bengal before to the Lok Sabha elections and the opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya took on importance, even though an RSS source said the trips were typical operations of the group.

According to a source, the BJP and the whole saffron ecosystem will launch a massive campaign starting on January 1st to protest the opening of the temple. Every home will get invitation cards from members of organizations such as the VHP and the RSS for the temple's opening.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged the BJP's social media and IT cell workers in Calcutta this week to step up the campaign for the Ram temple's opening.

The BJP leaders would participate in the function without flying any party or political flags. The initiative is called Ghar Ghar Yatra, which means "a march to every household," the source claimed, adding that the party leaders were free to run their own campaigns for the opening of the Ram temple.

As part of its election campaign, a BJP leader said that the party will keep trying to inform people about the years of struggle and the achievement of the Modi administration in erecting the temple.

The main spokesman for the BJP, Samik Bhattacharya, said that "the BJP leaders will certainly visit the doorstep of people in Bengal to let the new generation know about the struggles of people behind setting up the Ram temple and how it was finally set up during the Narendra Modi regime."

According to a BJP source, the rank and file was told at a meeting on Wednesday that was presided over by the state president of the party, Sukanta Majumdar, that no one would be granted a leave of absence from work until the Lok Sabha elections were over and that they should focus only on the Ram temple until January 15.

"We have requested that they finish up any organizational meetings, demonstrations, or ongoing political activity by December 31st. A BJP representative in East Burdwan said, "There won't be any such events during the first 15 days of the new year as we have to knock on every home during that time.
