Bridgerton Season 3 Trailer: Penelope and Colin Are Friends Turned LOVERS

The official trailer for Bridgerton Season 3 was released on Thursday by Netflix, showing the gradual transformation of Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) from friends to lovers.

The two-minute, 47-second teaser begins with a return to well-known promenade and grand ball sequences, highlighting a passionate romance between Simone Ashley's character Kate and Jonathon Bailey's character Anthony Bridgerton. Still, there are some fascinating new findings. Prudence Featherington (Bessie Carter) and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) seem to be growing closer.

Penelope Featherington in Coughlan's film chooses to let go of her long-standing crush on her childhood friend Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), but she is still adamant about finding independence and love—especially so she can carry on with her covert life as the notorious gossip writer Lady Whistledown without her mother and sisters interfering.

Colin, meantime, has just returned from his trip and is the buzz of the town thanks to his newly toned body. On the other side, despite her best efforts and a shining clothing, Penelope is unable to draw a suitor. Colin enters the picture at this point to support Penelope as a friend. They commit to finding her a good match for a husband. However, Colin's matchmaking adventure uncovers more profound feelings for him.

Colin feels quite uneasy and starts to doubt his true love for his friend Penelope as she becomes more self-assured and attracts the attention of Lord Debling (Sam Phillips). Colin asks his mother Violet Bridgerton (played by Ruth Gemmell), "Mom, do you believe the best foundation for love is friendship?" in an attempt to get advice.

With a moving scene between Penelope and Colin, the trailer ends leaving viewers to wonder: Is love motivated more by the heart or the mind?

Numerous well-known characters, including Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), are expected to make a comeback in the teaser. James Phoon, Sam Phillips, and Daniel Francis are among the newcomers that are revealed.

Eight episodes, divided into two halves, will be included in the upcoming third installment of the well-liked Shondaland television series. Netflix will release the first four episodes on May 16 and the last four on June 13.

The first season of the Regency era drama, which was based on Julia Quinn's eponymous eight-book series, followed the romance between Daphne (played by Phoebe Dynevor) and her husband Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). The next installment, which focused on the developing relationship between Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), had an enemies-to-lovers theme.
