BTech Student Commits Suicide in Kota Home After Battling Depression

According to authorities, a BTech student who had been seeking therapy for depression for the last three years reportedly hung himself at his Ambedkar Nagar home.

Police claim that when the young man told his father, an engineer stationed in Alwar, about his plan to end his life on Sunday, the father requested neighbors to see how his son was doing.


After the father arrived at their home in the evening, according to the police, the situation became apparent.

According to Rajaram, a Sub Inspector at the Kunhari police station, the 23-year-old had tried suicide in the past and had been seeking therapy for depression for the previous three years.

Following the post-mortem on Monday morning, police filed a complaint under Section 174 of the CrPC and handed over the corpse to the deceased's relatives.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Rohit Mathur, who lived in Kota with his family while he pursued a BTech degree in Jalandhar, Punjab.
