August 4, 2023, Mumbai, India At the age of 67, director Pradeep Sarkar, who provided Bollywood actress Vidya Balan with her initial break in the business, departed from this life on Friday. He allegedly fought a protracted illness and passed away in a Mumbai hospital.

The critically acclaimed movies that Sarkar is most known for helming are Mardaani (2014), Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007), and Parineeta (2015). In addition, he directed a number of popular music videos and TV ads.

The Indian film industry has been shocked by Sarkar's passing, and many celebrities have expressed their sorrow and condolences on social media.
