India Urges De-Escalation Amid Rising Tensions Between Iran and Israel

India demanded an urgent de-escalation of the situation on Sunday, expressing grave worry over the growing tensions between Iran and Israel.

In response to what it believes to be an Israeli airstrike on its consulate in Damascus on April 1, Iran conducted a missile assault on Israel.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said, "We are deeply concerned at the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran which threatens the peace and security in the region."

"We call for immediate de-escalation, exercise of restraint, stepping back from violence and return to the path of diplomacy," the organization said in a statement.

India is keeping a careful eye on the changing scenario, according to the MEA.
