Siddaramaiah, the chief minister of Karnataka, said on Saturday that he will decide whether to make the state's caste census public after receiving the findings in a month.

The result from the caste census would be delivered to the state government in November, according to K. Jayaprakash, chair of the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes.

"The then-chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy did not accept the report from the Kantharaj-headed committee, and the commission now has a new chairman. I've asked him to turn in Kantharaj's report exactly as it is. Siddaramaiah told reporters, "He has mentioned that the report will be provided in November, let's see.

The chief minister responded when questioned about the desire for distinct classification of the most disadvantaged sections, as it is done in other states. "The government cannot handle it alone; a report ought to be prepared for it... We'll consider it after the report from the commission on the underprivileged arrives.

The social, economic, and educational study was ordered by the state's then-Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in 2015 for an anticipated cost of Rs 170 crore; the results have not yet been made public.
