King Khan's Fans Celebrate Dunki Release with Chocolate Truffle Cake, Popcorn Popcorn and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" Chants

The main ingredient in a two-tiered chocolate truffle cake was love for SRK. The Dunki photo paper posters that encircled the area followed next. Popcorns were attached to the top like ceremonial sacrifices to the image of Shah Rukh Khan, who was standing atop the cake and flaunting his trademark arm movements.

On Thursday night, fans of King Khan's oldest fan club, The Kings Club, which was founded in 1995, flocked to Inox Metro to see his latest release, Dunki. To celebrate, the group cut a cake.

"We want to make it three out of three for SRK this year, after the phenomenal success of Pathaan and Jawan. Since there have been no announcements regarding 2024 releases, we decided to take advantage of the occasion and order a special cake,” stated Arnab Roy, the club secretary. The group had previously organized a Durga puja for Shah Rukh's IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in 2010 and partially funded an expedition to Mt. Sandakphu in 2013 to commemorate the team's title defense.

The Keyafe baker Srijita Thakur, who had also gone to witness the concert, said, "Being an SRK fan made this order a special one for me."
Manashi Mitra had attended the first performance of the day at Inox South City at 7:30 a.m. "Last night, I was too thrilled to sleep. I was not prepared to wait for the evening performance. I followed my workplace group accordingly. This is for the members of our club," she said.

Howrah-based salon owner Rima Das was providing a Dunki deal for the day. "I had given a 58% discount on November 2, which was SRK's 58th birthday," she grinned.

"Jab tak hai jaan, Shah Rukh Khan" was the gang's catchphrase as they entered, and they repeated it as the movie began.

The film left the group of over 35 satisfied, despite the fact that there were few times that made them laugh out loud, other than when a narrative twist showed how SRK had everything planned out to get them what they wanted: a trip back to India for all four of them. "What was lacking from his recent releases is a glimpse of the SRK of the 1990s and 2000s," Manashi said.

Arnab concurred. "Now, SRK has two types of fans: the elder generation, which includes people like us who have loved him since the TV series Circus and Fauji, as well as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Mohabbatein, and Swades. The younger generation makes up the other segment; they want to perceive him as an action-oriented, larger-than-life person. These days, he serves both kinds of fans. This movie is more to our taste since it is acting- and content-based," he said.
