Liverpool emerged from Old Trafford with a single point in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, moving them to even points with English Premier League leaders Arsenal. Mohamed Salah scored a late equalizer from a penalty kick.

In the 84th minute, Salah scored his sixth league goal at Old Trafford, surpassing Steven Gerrard's five goals, making him the most successful visiting player in league history.

Liverpool and Arsenal are tied for first place with seven games left in their championship battle, with Arsenal ahead on goal differential. Both teams have 71 points. United is in sixth place with 70 points, behind holders Manchester City in third.

According to Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, "It feels like a loss, it is our fault again," as reported by the BBC. "We had so many chances."

home the 23rd minute, Darwin Nunez headed a corner from Dominik Szoboszlai to the unmarked Colombian, who volleyed home a goal from close range, putting Luis Diaz and Liverpool on the scoreboard.

However, in the 50th minute, Bruno Fernandes scored a spectacular goal—his 50th league goal for the team—with their first attempt on goal. He did this by latching onto a wayward pass from Liverpool and lobbing the ball past keeper Caoimhin Kelleher from the center circle.

In the 67th minute, Kobbie Mainoo fired a rocket from just inside the 18-yard box into the far top corner, sending the Old Trafford crowd into a frenzy.

Since Cesc Fabregas scored a league goal for Arsenal against Liverpool in 2005, Mainoo is the first 18-year-old to do it. The ecstatic teenager celebrated by running to the corner flag and giving a salute to the supporters.

"It's an incredible feeling to score my first goal at Old Trafford, and it was even more special to do it in this fixture," Mainoo said to Sky Sports, expressing his disappointment with the outcome. "We didn't get the three points."

Harvey Elliott was taken down in the box, and Liverpool was given the penalty.

"Very conflicted feelings," Ten Hag stated. "On one side I am disappointed that we have dropped seven points in one week after being in winning positions, but we have to blame ourselves for making stupid mistakes."

This was the first league game that Liverpool had lost despite leading since they played Brighton in October.
