Madhya Pradesh Police Officer Suspended for Assaulting Youths Tied with Ropes

According to police on Monday, a head constable has been suspended for allegedly beating up two young people who were bound with ropes in connection with a theft case in the Betul district of Madhya Pradesh.

A video of the incident, which happened last week in Desli village within the jurisdiction of Mohda police station, appeared on social media on Sunday, according to an official.

In front of various stores, two young males are shown in the video being restrained by ropes and beaten up by a police officer with a plastic pipe as others watch on.

The footage showing head constable Kamta Prasad Keer beating the two people in relation to a mobile phone theft case caught their attention on Sunday, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Kamla Joshi.

Joshi stated that Keer, who was assigned to the Damjipura police station, had been suspended by the Betul superintendent of police when he saw the video.

She said that an investigation into the event is underway.
