Malinga: From Yorker King to Songwriting Maestro, Sri Lankan Speedster Hits a New Pitch
Lasith Malinga.

Sri Lanka did not have to worry much when Lasith Malinga was at his best, his toe-crushing yorkers terrorizing opposing batters in white-ball cricket for fifteen years. Malinga is back in the spotlight three years after he retired, albeit at a different level. The former speedster has written a few songs and hopes to impress once again with his "delivery."

"Learning the Yorker has been an amazing experience of pursuing my interest." I'm restless right now because of my newest passion. Regarding the "Songwriter Lasith Malinga," what are your thoughts? Malinga posted on a professional networking site a few days ago.

Malinga, the only player to lead Sri Lanka to World Cup glory (a T20 World Cup title in 2014) aside from Arjuna Ranatunga, is the creator of the album "Life," which consists of fourteen songs. Aside from that, he is the author of two additional songs: Palamuwarata (For the first time) and Yakka Gennala (To the giants looking from the outside).

However, the songs won't stay exclusive to the Sinhala music scene. One of the songs from "Life," "Dura Dakke Na" (Far Away), will soon be available in Hindi. Mangala Denex, a singer from Sri Lanka, is probably going to lend her voice.

"I've already begun putting the Hindi version together. That will be sung by one of Sri Lanka's most gifted vocalists.

Malinga told The Telegraph, "I'm sure all the fans in Sri Lanka and India would love it once that is released."

He recently had the inspiration to write songs while working on his book, which he hasn't decided on a title yet and is about his experiences bowling fast. Malinga said, "I had no idea that I wanted to be a songwriter."

"I was penning a book detailing my experiences and methods that a fast bowler ought to know." I was working on everything that came to mind as well as the book. That's when it dawned on me that those are the typical experiences people have, and some experiences have something to do with life.

"I just tried writing these as songs," the speaker said.

The majority of his songs will be about regular people and their experiences in life. "I'll be writing whatever comes to me whenever I have some free time. They will draw from personal experience.

People will find it lovely when the stories that come from Malinga's songs are more relatable to them, she added.

Which is harder: writing songs or cricket? Malinga, who is presently the Mumbai Indians' fast bowling coach, retorted, "There is no debate on it: cricket is harder."

"You must adjust technically, tactically, and by reading and comprehending situations as the opposition changes." Anyone who has played cricket will understand the difficulty of both the game and maintaining a high ranking over time.
