Despite bowling only eight overs in the second innings of the first Test match in Hyderabad against India, England's fast Mark Wood has no reservations about his modest part in their exciting victory.

Wood was the only seamer in the starting lineup as Captain Ben Stokes chose to go with four spinners, including part-timer Joe Root.

"He (Stokes) said probably one or two (overs) when we were at the ground," Wood remarked to ESPNcricinfo. "I mean, I kind of figured I might not even start the second innings of bowling." But, it seemed as if it were "one over, that's it." It would be quite odd for you to bowl one over and then be out. Strangely yet, I believe what he says. One more than? Alright, I'll give it my all to finish this.

"I'm not irritated that he said "relax" after that. Like, I get; let's spin now. Thus, it's a little bit different.

India swiftly In the Test, Jasprit Bumrah claimed six wickets. Wood bowled 25 overs throughout the contest before losing all of his wickets. Wood stated, "Bumrah bowling like a genius didn't do me any favours." "The team played fantastic, so even though I didn't get any wickets, I'm not too upset about it."
