Amid the flurry of Chinese rumors about anything from stents and heart attacks to brain strokes and comas, Amitabh Bachchan was a senior colleague who received his information straight from Mithun Chakraborty's family. Many years ago, Amitabh and Mithun traveled to Calcutta for the film's 1990 premiere of Agneepath, in which the Bengali actor portrayed Krishnan Iyer, dressed in a lungi. Both performers have ties to Calcutta dating back many years; AB refers to himself as Bengal's son-in-law.

AB would email his kids every day after Mithun became unwell to reassure himself that his 73-year-old colleague was doing OK.

Echoing what sons Mimoh and Namashi were telling everyone, wife Yogita Bali said coolly, "It was a spike in his sugar levels, nothing more than that." After packing his luggage and taking a flight to Calcutta, Mimoh (actual name Mahaakshay) stayed by his father's side till he recovered enough to return to work.

Returned to Mumbai, Mimoh revealed, "He's fine and has started shooting again for his Bengali film Shastri." Haunted, a technically upgraded horror-thriller series that featured Mimoh in 2011, is being directed by Vikram Bhatt.

Mimoh saw his father's success when Mithun was released from the hospital. He said, "I was amazed" at how kind each and every staff member, nurse, doctor, and ward boy had been to him. "The secret to his long career as an actor is the love he's gathered from a wide cross-section of people, the human connect he has with everybody," he said. Given that both of his parents lived to be quite old, Mithun also inherited longevity.

Although Mithun has resumed delivering speeches on behalf of his party, his boys do not see dad as a politician. Mimoh and Namashi agreed, saying, "He's not a politician and he won't contest elections, he just won't." He is not so much a neta as he is a people person to them.

Mithun's admission to the hospital followed his Padma Bhushan award, which was a setback. However, the Chakrabortys maintain their composure through highs and lows. After the announcement, "We had some food to celebrate." We order meals to celebrate everything that way," Mimoh chuckled. "And the following day, things resume as usual."

at celebration, Mithun, who keeps more than a dozen dogs at his cottage on Madh Island, sent home a new puppy. He deceives his sons by having them pick up some documents pertaining to their upcoming hotel in Bengaluru. When they arrive, they discover a waiting basket with a puppy. Following the Padma Bhushan, Mimoh had to return to Mumbai with a bulldog puppy he called Bro. "That's how dad enjoys himself." Jack and Jill, two Pomeranian puppies, joined the household as soon as Bro barely got home.

"They have names ready to go," Mimoh and Namashi said. It is Mithun, often known as "the boss," who christens his dogs. His kids are likewise pleased with the unusual names dad gave them: Ushmey (also known as Rimoh) follows Mahaakshay, followed by Namashi (pronounced "Namoshi" since it's Mithun's take on Namoh Shivaya) and Dishani, the lone and youngest daughter. The production company that the Chakrabortys founded, MYRND Movies, is named after the first letter of each of their names.

The young lad Gouranga Chakraborty, who once escaped from the police in Calcutta and became known as Mithun Chakraborty, has had a successful life because to his branded Monarch hotels in Ooty and Bengaluru.

Yogita gave up her work to raise her children and take care of the family's fourteen dogs, which may sound like a chauvinistic setting, yet when Mithun gets home, she kicks back while he goes to the kitchen. As a cook, his specialty is mutton biryani.

Mithun changed his way of living when the physicians advised him to, tossing smokes out the hospital window and almost completely giving up meat. Thus, the eating will have to wait, even if he can still cook a good biryani.
