Modi Slams Rahul Gandhi for Casteist Remarks, Defends Youth After 'Drunkard' Accusation
Narendra Modi in Varanasi on Friday.

In response to Rahul Gandhi's claim that his administration had done little to assist the underprivileged castes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that such remarks were offensive and untrue.

In response to Rahul's statement that he had seen inebriated youngsters on Varanasi's streets at night, he also said that those who are "out of their senses" are calling the young people drunkards.

"Humanity is harmed by anybody who incites others in the name of caste. Modi made these remarks on Friday at a celebration of poet-saint Ravidas' 647th birthday in Varanasi. "Every Dalit and backward person in the country should keep in mind that the people of the INDIA Alliance are provoking people in the name of caste," Modi added.

Though he omitted Rahul's name and the Congress, it was obvious who he was targeting.

"They are against the programs implemented for Dalits and the poor. In actuality, these individuals engage in family-centered, self-serving politics under the pretext of promoting the welfare of the lower castes. They attacked Digital India and mocked the toilet plan and Jan Dhan accounts," he claimed.

Following the opening of a dairy, Modi declared: "The Congress's yuvaraj, or prince, calls the young people of Uttar Pradesh and Kashi inebriated. People who lack common sense are referring to my Kashi and Uttar Pradesh youngsters as intoxicated. The young of Uttar Pradesh will alter the state's destiny, and those who support dynasty politics need to understand this.
