Musheer Khan's Magnificent Double Century Gives Mumbai Upper Hand in Ranji Trophy Quarterfinals

At the end of Day II of their Ranji Trophy quarterfinal here on Saturday, Mumbai had a 257-run advantage over Baroda thanks to an unbeaten 203 from Musheer Khan.

At the BKC Ground, Mumbai was pushed to 383 by Musheer, who clawed his way to a magnificent undisturbed double hundred while Bhargav Bhatt struggled to respond with a seven-wicket haul.

Then, Shardul Thakur ripped apart opening batsman and India U-19 World Cup participant Priyanshu Moliya (1) to start the first innings, shocking the visitors. Shams Mulani then struck quickly to remove Jyotsnil Singh for 32.

After being reduced to 65/2 in the 23rd over, captain Vishnu Solanki and batsman Shashwat Rawat combined to push Baroda to 127/2 at the close of play.

But Musheer hogged the highlight of the day once again. With 18 boundaries, the teenage player achieved 203 not out from 357 balls.

Before Baba Indrajith and Boopathi Kumar scored crucial half-centuries to give Tamil Nadu the edge in their quarterfinal matchup against Saurasthra, captain R. Sai Kishore led by example in Coimbatore.

With four first-inning wickets remaining, Tamil Nadu had a lead of 117 runs at stumps after reaching 300 for 6.

Night watchman Sai Kishore (60) and opener Narayan Jagadeesan (37) managed to put up a 54-run partnership for the second wicket when the day was resumed at 23 for one.

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh pulled off an incredible comeback, extending their advantage against Andhra to 83 runs at stumps thanks to a group bobbing effort.
