Former England captain Nasser Hussain believes that England's failure in the current World Cup is due to their dependence on statistics rather than their ability to judge the situation.
England suffered their worst defeat in ODI cricket history on Saturday, losing by 229 runs to South Africa, who are now leading the competition.
"England consistently makes poor judgments. We won the toss, but the side was not balanced correctly. According to Hussain on Sky Sports, "the three changes in the squad moved England completely away from how they have been playing for years."
Ben Stokes, David Willey, and Gus Atkinson took the places of Liam Livingstone, Chris Woakes, and Sam Curran in England's three lineup changes for the match.
"I agree that you left Wakes out and brought in Ben Stokes on a flat pitch because he lacked rhythm. The use of statistics and the toss decision are what bother me."
