Although Australia's Test team is becoming older, Nathan Lyon believes that the majority of its players are still healthy enough to play for another three to five years.
Only two players under the age of thirty were part of Australia's team that defeated New Zealand 2-0 in their Test series earlier this month.
In an episode of the podcast "Willow Talk," off-spinner Lyon, 36, stated, "We're definitely getting closer to the end than the start."
"But I also believe that we've put in the hard work, and if we keep putting in the hard work in terms of our training, recuperation, and rehabilitation, there's no reason why we can't continue playing for the next three, four, or five years."
The group's elder statesmen include bowlers Lyon, Josh Hazlewood (33), Scott Boland (34), and Mitchell Starc (34), but Lyon claimed that captain Pat Cummins, 30, is a good manager of the bowling department.
The body's ability to withstand injuries is the only thing that will prevent guys from continuing. The ability will always be present. The men know what to do and how to go about it because they have played for a long enough time now, according to Lyon.
Furthermore, Pat understands it as well, particularly among bowlers. He has a good understanding of when the bowlers are done and how important it is to manage them.
